LITTLE JEWELS
From my own back yard right here in Canada, wonderfully inventive and entertaining works by poet and artist, Jim Andrews. Little jewels of light and vision from the mind of a poet...

"I envision this Web site as the primary site for many of my projects. These include writing poetry, fiction, criticism, sound and visual poetry, drumming, programming, page design, and performance. I try to pursue a capacious poetic of multiple perspectives."
I'm not really sure what it is I like most about this colorful and well designed Web site. All of it maybe. There is lots here to see and do; engaging poetry and prose, beautiful visuals, first rate page design, and opportunity to participate, too. Enjoyable in its entirety, it might be Jim's creative spirit and poetic vision I admire most. In his words:

"When we write, we make something for the eye and the ear, the fingertips, the inner ear, the mind. Of course, we're working on the body. Writing is a slower, usually more careful practice than speaking. The delightful care that goes into the making of written things, often, is itself meaningful. A symbol, a symbol, a symbol. More meaning than we keep track of."

"...the possibilities for communication with people around the world, coming to know their work, is exciting. Poetry of motion moving across the world in a digital storm of mutual influence."

'More meaning
than we can keep track of' might be the key to Jim's Web site; his enchanting works in word and image are infused with meaning and substance. It is a great place to spend some quiet time.
