Welcome to Zn!
TED WARNELL

Welcome to the first issue of ZINEn new media: a journal of new media experimental visual literary theory practice.

Theory practice?

Practice of new media theory as this pertains to experimental visual and literary works for the World Wide Web of the Internet.

In the pages of Zn you will find words and works by artists, writers, poets, theorists, and scientists who explore the new media that is the Web.

Here are works not just on the Web, but in it -- in the media of the Web -- exploratory and experimental works of compelling vision and imagination by some of the most creative artists working in new media today. New works of art, literature, and theory to delight and surprise you, to inspire you, and to challenge your thinking about art and new media.

Zn is a journal for new media thought and theory, a showcase for new visual and literary art, a launch pad for your own exploration of creativity on the Web. Zn is a library of some of the boldest and most imaginative creative ideas, works, and minds of our time -- a document for history.

What's here in Zn?

Well for starters, we have ART: an online gallery for new media visual and literary art. And LIT: a growing literature library of features, reviews, and papers covering all aspects of new media art and theory. NEW: with news of new media events and exhibitions, call for entries, participatory projects for artists and writers. And WEB: a continuously updated and extensive list of annotated links to new media sites on the Web.
