Zn 98/04/17: Here are some great sources for ideas and research material on the Web -- some of my personal favorites. Of course, these sites and many others are documented in the Zn Web links library.

Leonardo DaVinci
was a true Renaissance man -- artist, inventor, scientist, and is always good to look in on. No matter that you've seen his work before, one can always learn something more and find new inspiration seeing these fascinating works again.

...Leo would have liked this site.
Leonardo @ the Museum
is a Web site by the Museum of Science in Boston USA. It is, in my view, one of the nicest of numerous LDV sites you can visit. I like it for quality of presentation, comprehensive information available, and too cool QuickTime VR navigation (also Shockwave and Real Audio/Video). Methinks, too, Leo would have liked this site.

This site requires browser plug-ins for QuickTime, Shockwave, and Real Audio/Video. You will find links to the download sites in Zn Web: Zoots, and in Zn Resources.

The Human Genome Project
is a multi-national, worldwide effort to learn about and document human DNA sequences. One of the largest scientific projects ever attempted, the HG project engages the services of thousands of scientists and researchers around the globe, and will take decades to complete.

...Leo the scientist would have loved these sites.
Here you can learn
more about the project, learn about neat things like arrays of cloned DNA that are suitable for comparative fluorescence hybridizations with probes of total mammalian genomic complexity, and look at (really) fascinating data and structures.

It is probably a bonus if you happen to be a geneticist with some understanding of this material, but I like to look in for the sense of awe and wonder. For sure, Leo the scientist would have loved these sites.

"Although human subtlety makes a variety of inventions by different means to the same end, it will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple or more direct than does nature, because in her inventions nothing is lacking, and nothing is superfluous."
    - Leonardo DaVinci

Favorite spaces
from the Zn Web links library. Great sources for ideas and research material. Look in to learn something new, discover new horizons, or just to revel in the sense of mystery. As always, have fun.
